Industrial Portable Dust Collectors

Rapid Prep’s portable industrial dust collectors provide a cleaner and safer work environment alongside increased manufacturing efficiencies.

Portable Industrial Dust Collectors

Features

Rapid Prep’s portable industrial dust collectors are among the most versatile, powerful, durable and rugged dust collection systems around. They include state-of-the-art cartridge pulsejet dust collectors. They also come equipped with self-cleaning cartridge-style filters and a hydraulic auger for dust discharge. We also have both diesel and electric portable industrial dust collectors that range from 2,500 CFM to 45,000 CFM so Rapid Prep can cover all of your dust collecting needs.

Our portable industrial dust collectors come with a Rapid Flex hose for dust collection, which is designed specifically for use with portable dust collectors and is reinforced with a spring steel wire helix and external PVC wearstrip for durability.

HEPA Filtration, OSHA Compliance & Ventilation

We can provide the correct amount of ventilation for any size project, so your company will always be OSHA compliant. Our dust collector and portable dust collector equipment can also be used as large HEPA filtration systems. One of our units does the work of 28 standard HEPA machines! Our long-life filters are designed for heavy dust loading, therefore being used as a HEPA negative air scrubber, the self-cleaning filters will last years.

The Rapid Flex hose for dust collection is designed specifically for use with portable dust collectors and is reinforced with a spring steel wire helix and external PVC wearstrip for durability. Our unique portable diesel dust collectors are custom-designed for filtering Fracking Dust and safely depositing the silica or any other dust into the container of your choice. Each dust collector uses state-of-the-art filter cleaning systems that are 99.98% efficient.

Applications

Rapid Prep’s portable dust collectors can be used in a variety of different industries. The most common industries are:

For Sale & For Rent

Rapid prep has portable industrial dust collectors in all sizes that are both for sale and for rent. Electric and diesel dust collectors are available in a variety of sizes to meet the specific demands of your project. Whether you are looking to buy an industrial portable dust collector, or just need a rental, Rapid Prep has you covered.

Most Common Dust Collector Questions

What size portable dust collector do I need for my project?

The right size depends on your required airflow (CFM), which you can determine by figuring out the volume of your work area and the required air changes per hour (ACH). If you’re connecting the collector directly to equipment, you’ll also want to check the CFM requirements listed in the tool manuals to ensure the collector can keep up with the airflow demand. And don’t forget that dust type matters — fine particulates like silica or blasting media often require higher airflow to stay compliant.

Then you just match your requirements to one of our units, which range from 2,500 CFM to 60,000 CFM. If you need assistance, the Rapid Prep team would be happy to run the numbers for you and recommend the right size based on your project specifications.

Are Rapid Prep’s dust collectors suitable for controlling silica, fracking dust, or other hazardous particulates?

Yes, both the diesel and electric units available from Rapid Prep are engineered to safely capture and contain silica, fracking dust, and other hazardous particulates using high-efficiency filters and sealed discharge systems. Here are a few other examples of particulates Rapid Prep’s dust collectors can control:

  • Wood
  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Plastic
  • Paint powder
  • Carbon
  • Pharmaceutical powders
  • Toxic metals; like lead, beryllium, and hexavalent chromium

How do I calculate the dust collection capacity required for my job site?

Capacity is based on the volume of your containment area, how much dust your process generates, and the required air changes per hour (ACH) needed to maintain safe visibility and negative pressure. The volume of your containment area is simply the cubic footage of your workspace. Then, how much dust your process generates will help you determine your required ACH.

For example, if your process only generates a little bit of dust, you might only have a 4-6 ACH. A moderate amount of dust? 6-8. A large amount? 8-12 or even more. Most industrial contaminants need 6-10 ACH, which means the entire air volume should be replaced 6-10 times per hour. Once you have your containment volume and required ACH, multiply them together and divide by 60. This should give you your ideal CFM.

So, let’s say your workshop is 60 ft. long, 40 ft. wide, and 15 ft. tall, giving it a volume of 36,000 ft3 and you choose an ACH of 10 based on your high dust generation. Then the formula becomes 360,000 divided by 60, which gives you a CFM of 6,000.

How often should I change or service the filters in a portable dust collector?

Filter life depends on dust type and loading, humidity, and how often the collector runs, but most industrial cartridge filters last several months to several years when properly maintained. There is no fixed interval, but you should pay attention to airflow drops or rises in differential pressure.

Rapid Prep’s self-cleaning cartridge filters typically last significantly longer than standard filters because the pulse-jet system removes dust buildup and maintains consistent performance. Regular inspections and monitoring of differential pressure will indicate when replacement is needed.

What are the advantages of diesel vs. electric portable dust collectors?

The main difference between diesel and electric dust collectors is that the latter offers quieter operation. Diesel units are ideal for remote or outdoor sites without reliable power, while electric units are preferred for indoor or low-emission environments. Rapid Prep provides both options to match your project conditions.

Do you offer both rental and purchase options for portable dust collectors?

Yes, absolutely. Rapid Prep offers a full range of portable dust collectors for purchase, but also as industrial rental equipment. There are both diesel and electric models available in multiple sizes to meet your project’s specific requirements.
